hi folks on the glazing side

i'm currently taking out my sashes (sash only not the pine frames etc) and replacing with double glazed k glass argon gas filled units...they fit in agains the frame and look quite good while still retaining the victorian frame.

I'm fitting them myself. after all its only 6 screws (after taking sashes out and preparing/sanding etc).

is this bco notifiable or is it replacement of damaged windows ;)

Any other things i need to know

thx

If these new sashes are heavier than your existing sashes, then you may well need to add some lead to the weights, or if considerably heavier then new weights.

Weigh the sash panes on bathroom scales. You'll need two weights per sash at half the bathroom scale recorded weight each, plus 1 or 2 pounds for the top sash and less 1 or 2 pounds for the bottom sash....

thanks, but i'm replacing with upvc d/glazed. flush agains the front rebate...no sash action anymore.

any comments on my other questions

cheers
