Over the years I have had to do repairs to the double glazed doors and windows in my present house and previous places but I've always had to bodge them with the wrong handles, locks, hinges etc because I don't know where to get specialist parts. They never seem to use the standard ironmongery you can buy from Screwfix or other general suppliers. My next job is to replace a rotten wooden door on my workshop with a secondhand aluminium door and frame I picked up for £20. The door can be lifted off the frame like you would with rising butt hinges. The hinges are not actually rising butt but have loose hinge pins with plastic bushes, also easily removed. Two of the three pins and one of the six bushes are missing. I should be able to find some long bolts I can cut up to provide new pins but would rather buy the correct parts if I could. Does anyone know of a specialist supplier of door and window spares? I did a Google search and found one such specialist firm but they are in Australia!
