Strange door handle

Howdy

By reading some of the questions posted here and the responses, they seem quite technical so my question will prolly be a breeze!

Essentially our bedroom door handle goes down properly and very easily (very little friction) but it doesn't open the door very well, we usually have to kick the door or shoulder barge it to open it. The noise is also very loud without the kicking/shoulder barging.

However from the otherside in the bedroom, the door opens with ease.

Any idea why and what I can do to fix this?

It sounds as if the spindle(bar) which connects the handles is too short....take off 1 of the handles and see if this is the problem.If so,you need to buy a new spindle.

Jaffa is right. I had the same problem as yours.
