Hi,
I live in a house built in the 1900's. It has a damp proof course in the walls. The lounge area which is above the cellar is always cold and feels damp, and I've always put it down to the fact that the cellar below is cold, damp and drafty. However I discovered what looks like a white mold (white, small, slightly raised cotton wool like patches) growing on the carpet near the fireplace, mold also growing on the slate vertical fireplace (its the original fireplace, although the fire area is blocked off with hardboard) and mold also growing on an internal wall (which comes up from the cellar) and growing on the back of the sofa which has its back to the internal wall.
Anyone know what could be causing it?
Many thanks
