Hi,
What with the current price of heating oil, and free access to ulimited wood I have got to install a woodburing stove in my living room.
Looking at putting a twin wall stainless steel flue running from the living room throught the bedroom upstairs and out through the roof as the house was built in 2003 without a chimney.
The floor that the stove will be standing on is a suspended floor on standard joists and i am not sure of how much weight it could bear if i have to install a stove of around 125kg and a hearth on top of it, also would i need to rip up the laminate flooring if i put a glass floor plate under the stove.
The stove would have to be in the corner of the room due to the position of the flue so would i have to cover the wall with some kind of heat resistant material over the existing plasterboard would this satisfy building regs?
Cheers
