Rose Growing - Lack of foliage

Good afternoon everybody.

I have a couple of climbing rose trees 'Danse de Feu'.

There are providing a fair number of roses on practically bare stems.

Has anybody any ideas on how one could increase the amount of foliage on the stems.

Any information would be gratefully received.

What is the soil like? Are the roots close to a wall and therefore too dry? Do you feed the rose?
