Hi,
For a garden wall, with 10" deep foundations, does the concrete need to be square in the trench? Ive been told to line the trench with wooden posts and make sure both sides are level and mark the depth of concrete on them.
I tried getting these rails and levels worked out today and it seemed to take forever, so my question is, is this really needed?
I have the trench dug, is there any reason why i cant just tip the concrete in and let it level itself out? there is a slight slope on the base of the trench, but the depth is about correct, up to ground level, so do the sides have to be made square? Or can i just pour the concrete in and let it fit to the trench walls which are slightly sloped, and also not very firm soil but the base is nice and firm.
Hope that makes sense, also is mixing ballest with cement @ 5:1 ok for the foundations?
Thanks again for the help
