i have a bay tree in pot in garden i discovered ants nest white wing ones and small ones how do i get rid of them i do not want to throw plant out

Ant killer, the ones with wings will go, but the rest will carry on breeding unless you destroy the nest.

i would leave them alone, they may nest somewhere less desirable next time!

Nippon Gel is very effective. Comes in a miniature tube, like toothpaste. You put a few drops on metal (e.g. coins) so it does not soak away, they carry it into the nest and share it.
