could anyone tell me where the damp proof course is likely to be on a house with a suspended floor. There are vents around the bottom of the house, will the damp proof be below these and if so, by how much.
Thank you

probably in the mortar bed at the base of the sub floor vents. but it will be dependent on external ground levels and internal floor levels.

When was your house built?

I would probably say in the mortar joint on top of the air bricks.

House was built 1900. The air bricks are about 9 x 2.5
Thanks

how can I tell for sure if its above or below, my last house had quite a noticeable line where the damp course was but that was a new type house this one is 1900, what did they use for a damp course?

Thanks

maybe slate or in a house that age there may not be one.

Look at your neighbours houses, any of them have lots of small holes around the air brick level (probably filled with brown plastic plugs) which may suggest an injected damp proof.
