My pond has a leak due to a couple of ducks making holes whilst repeatedly trying to claw their way out.

The fox has eaten the ducks, and the pond leaks. I'm getting fed up with refilling the pond, but I don't really want to spend £60 on a decent liner because I'm not sure I won't get rid of the pond in a year or so anyway.

So... Can I use the old DPM I have in the garage as a liner? How long will it last?

Cheers

DPM may not be UV stabilised in which case it could crack and leak again... although how much sun do we get in this country???

If it is a temporary measure then it may not matter too much.

better way.

lower the water level to below said holes.

cut an odd bit of liner off (under the edge?)

clean the exisiting liner very thouroughly (where the holes are)

cut the spare bit of liner so it covers holes. put a thin layer of genuine silicone sealnt on strip. push stip over hole, wipe off access silicone selant, leave fopr a few hours (depending on weather) fill it up.
