Kerbs for a monoblock path.

I have a longish straight run of monoblock paving down the side of the house. It's been laid and whacked OK but there is no kerb to it. There is only an edging of (I think) mortar sloping down over the sand from half-way up the blocks to try to hold it together. It looks OK just now (and it's been there a couple of years) but I'm sure it will crumble away at the edges given time.

I don't want to rip it up if possible. I've thought of shuttering and laying a 50mm concrete kerb to flush with the blocks. Does this sound doable? Any other ideas?
