hello,
just moved to a new house, current elec shower is a piddly 7.5kw rated gainsbourogh. doesn't very well and is cracked etc. so want to swap it with a 9 or 9.8kw Mira Sport Elec thermostatic, the mains pressure is good, so...
there is a 45A isolation switch in the bathroom thats fine, with very beefy cables coming into it (10mm i think).
Supply cables going into shower are equally thick (marked 3138?) and my CU is marked max 60A, but fuses are wire type not switch. Can i put in the Mira without issue? and also can i simply switch all my wire fuse blocks for plug in switches? or is it just as economical to get a new CU fitted?

You really need to upgrade your CU with a split-load type.

The rewireable fuseboxes are limited to 30A per fuse way and (usually) a max load of 60A.
Either u need a new fuseboard (per above) or one of these. clicky
In any event you really should have RCD protection on the shower circuit.
