hi, i have a existing villiger log burning stove which was already in place with central heating running, very badly from it, when i moved into this cottage. having had gas installed and proper central heating installed i removed the water heating parts and the flue from the back of the stove and have not used it for 3 years.. i have now decided that i would like to get it up and running again, but am having problems finding a flue connector that will fit onto the back of the stove. when i removed the old one it appeared to have been bolted, or screwed onto the back and then sealed with cement. then the flue only went about 3 ft up the chimny. the house and chimny is built of solid stone, with a straight up wide chimney which i know i need a cowl on. just wondering if any one has any clue as to where i can get the join for the back of the flue from. it needs to join to back and then bend and go directly straight up. all the sites i,ve looked at on here have them going at a slight angle..either that or can anyone recc someone in the somerset area that i could pay to do this for me? sorry if i have not been very technical with my descriptions, but am a woman.. just trying hard to do what i can for myself,,,but getting a bit stuck with this job! thanks.

Oh what the poor suffragettes went through for you to pull that 'I'm just a woman' line out of the bag.

I take it you are after a socket collar, possibly your model is not a current one.
Give Villager a call direct and enquire or a local stove specialist I know you want to keep costs down but if they can supply the part only.
Good luck

hi, yes i think that it is quite an old model, but in really great condition,, all the connectors i have seen on all of the sites i,ve googled, ...and there are a 'suprising' amount, seem to have the joining section looking like its a push in place one, and then would be sealed with cement. the one i,m after has a lip around the edge with screw hole in it to join, which i just havn,t seen anywhere. think i,ll have to go to a specialist shop as you suggest and visually hunt it down...
its not the installation thats a problem.....its finding the bits thats the battle! thanks anyway for your help.
Amber.

Hi - I had a Stove fitted recently and all the bits with it. I used an online company who supplied the lot for me - and delivered it free.

They seem to have a whole bunch of villagers :

They also do a free flue design service which we used, my builder sent in a drawing of what we thought we needed, they got back in touch with a list of different items, they were very helpful. Take a look on their site or call them up.
