Mondeo y01 (new shape) 2l petrol. It takes long time for water temperature to reach working range. water level fine. If in traffic temperature goes up if I turn heathing on it drops. I have concluded it must be stuck thermostat. How can I change it, is there anyone with instructions pictures etc. I think I can identify the thermostat housing with rubber hoses coming out but I am not sure what tools I need and how to get to it best.

thanks

it takes about 30 to 45 minutes to reach temperature, but even then when on clear run it drops off nearly to zero or actually off the scale as when cold on start. In traffic temperature goes up faster in 20 minutes perhaps. It points to open flow on thermostat , it's stuck open.
