No earth connection in light socket??
Reply with quote Thanks

Hi,
I have just moved a 2 way light switch. The new switch has Com, L1 and L2 but no Earth. The original back box was a metal flush box with an earth connection but the new one is a single dry liner box (it is in plasterboard) but it doesn\\\'t have an earth connection. What do I do with the earth wire?
I\\\'m using 1mm T&E plus extra live wire

Just read through the forums - and found the answer! Doh...that will teach me. I'd already put the earth wire in a choc block, sleeved correctly and wrapped away neatly (just in case)

Apols for wasting the forums time

Just stick it in a terminal block - Do not tape it up! Yuk!

Also, when you say "an extra wire", I hope this is double insulated?
