Could any explain how to change the valve that is attached to the expansion vessel? I’ve had a problem a couple of years ago with the expansion vessel and it turned out to be a fault valve. An engineer replaced the valve and the problem was fixed. The problem seems to have returned. It may be the expansion vessel needs to be replace and if that’s the case I will get a CORGI register engineer but if it’s a simply job to replace the valve I try that to see if it cures the problem.

1/ it's a schraeder valve as used on car inner tubes go to halfords and ask.

but

2/ it might just need repressurising or

3/ the vessel membrane may be ruptured but perhaps

4/ sludge has blocked the path toit but fon't forget

5/ you will undoubtedly need anew prv as a result.

Thanks Paul

I've tried re-pressuring it following the instructions in the service manual but it doesn’t seem to keep its pressure.

prv ? Is this pressure release valve?

How do I actual get the old one out? Does it just screw out?
