attaching concrete posts to house

how do you attach concrete fence posts to a house? can i drill into the post or is there some kind of bracket available? if i dig down 2ft will i hit the house foundations?

If it is a fence or gate post, it is more usual to fix a wooden post to the wall when the fence reaches the housel. It need not go all the way to the ground, this will prevent it going rotten so soon.

you need a concrete wall plate. this is a half thickness post, which is also smaller in height. They come with pre-drilled holes in and are rawlbolted to the wall

each to their own! i still prefer timber. he asked ho it was attached so i told him! i do put up plenty of concrete posts for customers. still think they look crap though!
