hot and cold washing machine

hi guys

just moved into a new flat and it only has a cold supply connection to the washing machine the hot tap has a blanking cap over it.

now am i right in thinking that all i have to do is connect the cold supply to the cold supply point on the washing machine and thats it?

do i have to connect anything to the hot water point on the washing machine?

Get a Y adapter for the cold supply and fit both hot and cold to it.
