Hot Water Cylinder

I have a new cylinder i'm fitting and would like some advice on the connections to the cylinder. I have the brass fittings male & female should they be tightened up with just PTFE tape and or some sort of washer?

Yep PTFE only. On a cylinder I still prefer some hemp and boss white(blue),just don't tell the water police
