stelrad combi boiler pilot not staying on , thought it may be therm. couple
so changed it and also cleaned the pilot injector out but still pilot not staying on could it be gas valve ?

Is the overheat in series with the thermocouple on this boiler? If so it may need resetting.

Could be gas valve problem, but rare.
 
you mean it could be a overheatstat kicked in and need re setting thanks for quick reply by the way

Much better to find the fault by measuring the T/C output voltage before and after the o/h stat. Often high resistance o/h stat contacts.

Dont take any notice of the old people who say its "not necessary to measure voltages" and suck their breath between their teeth and say "its going to be expensive, you are going to need a new gas valve! "
