Is there anyway of detecting the phase of a circuit from a 3phase board at a socket or switch???

you can't do it from the socket alone you will need some reference feeds from the board.

if you have a reference feed from all the phases then you can just measure voltage between the unknown phase conductor and the three phases.

Can you identify which fuse / MCB supplies the circuit ? ( by turning tem off one at a time ) If so maybe then you can trace the tail back to the meter.
