Hi,

Following a slight DIY accident of slicing through part of two alarm cables - one for PIR, the other for the keypad terminal. I've cut the offending sliced areas, re-routed slightly to give me the slack to work with and then used a proper junction box to join.

However, having done this the keypad terminal is lifeless. I'm wondering whether I've blown a fuse as i didn't cut the power before I cut through the main cable....?!?

Have I done anything wrong? or is there I need to reset etc....? I can get the make/model of alarm system tonight, if required.

Thanks in advanced. David

most likely you have blown a fuse in the main panel

many thanks. apologies..a bit of a novice question - will I need to isolate the power in order to swap out the fuse(s)?

It is advisable to switch the mains off to the panel before removing the cover, tho remember there will still be power in there supplied by the battery backup.
