Hi ,

I have had this problem a few times in regards to some of my bedroom rads.I know this is often the pin being stuck down in the thermostat and sometimes can bang it and it pops up.However its just not happening and i have been trying for a while now to actually get the thermostat off to pull the pin up with pliers and i cannot remove it .Can anyone help me ,i bet its really simple ....and my patience has gone .

Thanks

Tam

if you pull it out with pliers you will probably break it. if you press it down against the spring or wiggle it a bit it might loosen enough to come pop out.

I think you are going to have to look at new valves. Some of the older ones had weak springs.

if you post a pic of the old valve someone will recognise it and know how to remove the head

Problem in its most basic form is corrosion and limescale build up. you may have to replace the valve if the pin is really stuck and clean the system
