Have you tried inserting key in ignition turning it to position 1 then pressing the fob button?
A similar method is used to re-synchronise BMW key fobs.

For some reason I seem to remember there is a master switch somewhere either in the engine bay or in the boot. You can then disable the immobiliser that way.

Do you have the pin number keypad in the box between the seats?

If so then the ribbon cable was a favourite to fail !

You MIGHT get it to start if you power the fuel solenoid seperately directly off the battery if you need to move it.

If not then I would have expected the alarm to be sounding???

If it does not respond to the IR key fob code then there is a very simple operation but I cannot publically post it otherwise Mad Mod 10 will delete it as "inappropriate security advice" !!!
