adding ceiling fans

I installed two ceiling fans in the family room from my low voltage light circuits. Now the fans won\\\'didn't turn off from the wall switch. Did I do something wrong in the wiring or did the old low-voltage swithching system fail? I didn\\\'t do anything with the wall switches.

are you really from the USA?

if so then you should find a more appropriate forum to post on

people from the UK cannot generally give meaningfull and safe advice on american wiring sorry

ie the practically dead forum that trys to cover the whole world

i would say its a much better bet to try and find some american forums

The trouble is they're probably so anal about liability if they say anything other than "engage a qualified electrician"...
