Hi, I have seen various threads on this subject, but never a definitive answer. I expect many of the more experienced of you have encountered this.
When installing a new consumer unit, and you find that some or all of the cables are too short (not the tails), whats the correct way to extend them?
Thanks, Mike.

1. connector blocks in an enclosure(cack)
2. through crimps inside an enclosure(less so but still a bit cack)
3. din rail mounted connectors inside an enclosure(not at all cack)

Depends largely on how many conductors need extending.
If it's only a few and joints will be in CU the through crimps are used.

Otherwise it's DIN rail enclosure with din rail connectors

Thank you both. Through crimps are what I expected, but in an enclosure? Even if they are already in an enclosure, i.e. the consumer unit itself?
I ask because, as you might have guessed, I am still learning, and have never actually seen a consumer unit with extended cables, but surely it must be a common requirement?
Regards, Mike.
