I'm busy redoing my bedroom.

Basically I want to be able to have a feed to a bedside lamp which will be controlled via a switch on the wall.

I know how to go about the wiring of the switch etc, and also how to bring the twin & earth to the location where the lamp is, my question is, can I just terminate the feed into a back box and then in turn have the lamp cord terminate to this box via a flex type outlet?

Is this the correct way of going about it, I would hate to think that in the future a new owner of the house may add a socket to this!!

2 or 5 amp round pin socket is the usual way to add lighting points for floor / table lamps..
means you can take your light with you when you leave and the next people can't plug the hoover into it...
