plastic pipes & pushfit connections & chasing into t

Hi,
asking a complete niave question here. I have some pipes cold and hot water, they are the 15mm variety with plastic pushfit connections. Is it bad practice to chase this into the wall or should I rather be using copper?
Another question, what are the pros and conns of using copper and plastic pushfit connections?

thanks for your reply, in this case could you tell me the life expectancy of plastic as apposed to copper?

i always use hep2o if im gonna use plastic.
they recon they can give a 50 year guarantee.
