Oak Doors

don't be too disappointed if they turn out to be oak veneer on a chipboard or constituted wood core.

They have a page at http://www.distinctivedoors.co.uk/modern_methods about the construction of their oak internal doors which shows you that they are not solid oak.

I wouldn't touch solid oak doors as in the past I used to make them and/or buy them and I had about a 75% failure rate due to twisting, bowing, splitting etc.

A laminated oak door (or in fact any other door for that matter) is a lot better. I personally wish my customers would understand this because even after I have tried to talk them into laminated and they insist on solid they think its my problem when they have problems.

I've never had a problem with a veneered oak door. Ever.
