Hello,

I have a dilemma - we need a new front door (UPVC), but the entrance area needs plastering too...

So the question is do we get the front door fitted before the entrance is plastered or afterwards?

Not knowing whats involved in fitting a new door, I'm concerned that if we get it plastered before a new door is fitted the new surface will get damaged during fitting.

Replace the door first then plaster up to the new frame; replacing the door may lead to remedial work being necessary on the reveal & this can be done at same time. I assume you’re aware of the regulations regarding replacement doors & windows!

Thanks for the reply.

I thought that would be the case, just wanted to double-check.

As for regulations - we had our windows replaced last year so we know the score on that one.

Thanks again!
