:?: Can anyone help me understand how this fitting works?

I purchased one from a DIY shop and when asked how it worked they didn't have a clue, they suggested glue. I dare say it is just a push fit connection but to me it just doesn't look like it will do the job ... should some form of pipe clamp be used ... how do these connections work ?!

Thanks in advance,

Gary

Depends entirely on the make. Many of them don't look much, you do just push them together. If they leak, pulling on the pipe makes them grip harder.

MDPE pushes in one end, 15mm copper the other. NO GLUE!!!
BUT you DO need an insert in the end of the MDPE pipe to stiffen it and make the joint watertight and secure.
