Stuck with this one.

Putting on Central Heating programmer, and calling for hot water as normal. However, it is only slightly heating the water in the indirect open-vented cylinder, is this a port valve problem? Maybe only opening slightly?

- The heating is very warm, as normal, so I can't see it being a boiler problem.

yup, that sounds familiar - either the valve isnt doing it's job or there is a restriction in the tank coil reducing the flow of hot water into the tank heating coil

is the heating system getting warm when it shouldnt ? ie: when the water tank only needs heat

na thats yours

... as my regular plumber said to me earlier (right after saying he cant get round to sort it) ... "at least its heating, rather than doing nothing and freezing your ass off" !!
