I have quite a large area to cover - 6m by 5m.
I have cemented in a brick boarder with a 1:80 fall so I have some solid edges to screed from. I am laying manufactured riven 600*600 slabs so should give an even final layer.
I intend on using a dry sharp sand cement mix @ 10:1
The whole area is quite solid, so I am not digging out just to put extra scalping in.
However, I have a couple of areas than need raising, but not enough for a 855kg bag of scalping.
I have some cement & builders sand left from my boarder, and a load of soil. Is it possible to make up a cement mix and bolster it up with soil and smear it into the low areas??
I am just trying to think of ways to save a bit of cash - wouldn't have to buy extra materials or order a skip to take away my soil!
The Patio will ony ever see pedestrian traffic so doesn't have to be well solid.
Any cost saving tips???
Cheers

Cheers breezer.
Looked into the soil cement idea - they use it for paths & car parks, but it is highly compressed.
I've picked up a load of All in Ballast from B&Q & cement - i'll use this to build the base up in the areas that needs it.
Any tips for screeding??
I'm using a sharp sand 10:1 cement mix. Did a small area 1m by 1m. Not looking forward to doing the 5m by 6m area now.
