Hi I would like to know how to get tar from the carpet. it's been there for some time and I would like to know what to use. I hope you can help me out.

white spirit or turpentine.
lighter fuel, soak and absorb with tissue, white spirit will stain the carpet.

i think foxhole meant it will remove colour from the carpet, thereby looking like it has stained it
