Hi
I have a potterton prima f boiler which the main pilot flame fails to say on. When I turn the heating/water on at any time of the day the main burner flame kicks into life. But after approx 10mins if cuts off leaving only the pilot light on. This will stay running all day long if I leave it.
So I have not hot water of heating.
Any idea what to what could casuing this.
Thanks

Is the boiler getting up to temperature and turning off on its thermostat? But this would come on again after an hour or so when it cools.

If that were the case the problem would be the pump is not pumping for some reason.

If the pump really is OK and the boiler is stone cold after it goes off then the problem will be the pcb or gas valve. For both these you will probably need a competent CORGI engineer.

Hi,

You can hear the bioler click on but this does light the burner flame, only the pilot stays on.

If an when the burner flame comes on first time it goes off after apr 10 mins and then only the pilot flame stays on, I have lef this for approx 3 hours and the burner flame does not come back on, so have currently no hot water or heating

Thanks

if pilot stays on then I would be suspecting the gas valve not shutting off properly.

Try turning gas off at service valve on boiler then turn it back on-see what happens
