I am looking at replcing the window in my boys bedroom at the rear of the house, the window that is replacing it is upvc and slightly smaller in width but the same in height.

My question is; do i need to support anything when i pull the window out as i dont know if there is a lintel above it, i presume there is as i cant see any bowing in the existing upvc frame.

the house is a 1930's semi if that helps.

It would be most unlikely if there was not a lintel or suchlike on the inside, but there many not be any support to any bricks on the outside.

If the frame is level with the soffit, then you are OK and don't need anything on the outside
