Before planting, you need to dig a wide rather than deep hole and incorporate some organic matter into the soil - either garden compost or well rotted manure and mix in well to the planting hole. A handful of either Bonemeal or Blood/Fish/Bone will help root formation.
Make sure the "wall" of the hole is forked over to enable the roots to get into the soil.
Make sure you have left enough room between each hole for the eventual height & spread of each conifer as they can get very large dependant on the type you have bought.

Water the trees well if they are in a container and leave to stand for an hour or so before planting. Tease out the roots (especially if they are curled around in the pot) and make sure they are spread out as much as possible in the base of the planting hole. Then cover well with soil, firmly press soil down to make sure the roots are in contact with the soil and water in very well.
From now on until autumn it will be imperative to water the conifers on a weekly basis - more often if the weather is very dry.

A top dressing in spring & autumn of (again) Bonemeal or Blood/Fish/Bone will help growth.
