hi guys,

I want to replace my fuel filter. I am having trouble removing the piping and freeing the old fuel filter. The rubber pipes are being very difficult and are not budging.

Any ideas anyone?

It has to come off, try prising it off with a screwdriver. If you just can't get it you might have to cut the rubber pipe at the end of the filter inlet or outlet or both.

if they're just held on by hose clips, get a pair of swan neck pliers / plumbers grips over the hose and twist it back and forward to break the seal

thanks for all your help.

Tried to twist and turn, but is very stubborn. Is there a special tool to remove this?

No, its just very stiff! When I did my girlfriends, it took a lot of twisting of the hoses and puling and swearing!

keep at it!

Be prepared for a nice spray of fuel as well, if you haven't unpressurized the fuel lines first, by running the car with the fuel fuse out.
