We have recently had the pump changed seems to work fine. Have a Potterton EP3001 switch which looks like it is working ok, timer correctly set, but the pump will not turn off when heating the hot water, even when we push the off button, the hot water light goes off so you would expect the pump to stop but it doesn't. We are having to turn it off at the mains in order to stop the water getting too hot.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

has this been doing it since the pump was changed ?
did he touch any wiring or just change the pump?

Yes boiler fires up - pipes to the pump getting hot when off, the water tank is not getting hot and no lights on.

Sorry we have two Valve Actuators code: BGMVSP2 (gas code 555212) both with two pipes going into them.

so turn all your heating and hot water off at programmer.
on the valve feeding the cylinder is a little black lever on the end push that across is it stiff or loose ?

also the pipe from pump to valve is hot ?
but pipe on otherside of valve is cold ?

sounds like it jammed.

on the side of the valve casing is another black lever push that in and the plastic top will lift off the brass valve.

is the plastic casing hot ?
