Hi

I drained down my CH system to fit a new TRV - (the vacuum didn't work)!! and I have now refilled it. What are the signs if you have an airlock somewhere on re-filling? I hope i don't have one!

does your have a feed and expansion tank, or is it pressurised?

Have you bled all the radiators, and any other vents, and do they all squirt out water forcefully?

BTW did you include a corrosion inhibitor on refill? And did you get sediment out when you drained?

You might well have some air in it here or there, however I clear mine like this:

after I have bled mine and it seems full, I turn the boiler thermostat to "off" (so there is no risk of it overheating if dry) and run the pump on and off for brief periods. After a while it stops gurgling, when it has pushed any remaining air into rads, where I can bleed it out. The brief periods are to minimise the risk of running the pump when it has air in it (water cools and lubricates it) and also to let any air bubbles rise up instead of (possibly) being prevented by the flow.

I am just a householder
