Hi everybody, this is my first post and I would like to ask if someone can point me in the right direction please.
My problem is water coming out of the overflow pipe (vented outside)
The boiler actualy works or so it seems, when I run the hot tap it seem to take a long time for hot water to come through though?
hope you can help.
Thanks in advance.
Rob.

Basics first.

What does the pressure gauge read when the water is coming out of the prv pipe?

When system cold is pressure gauge reading just over 1 Bar?

If so, when you turn on heating does it quickly rise to above 3 Bar?

When you turn a HW tap on does the flow pipe to the rads get warm/hot as well?

Hi wiggikins and gas4u dave, first a big thank you for a quick reply.
Yes I forgot to close the fill loop, however that was only after I had stripped down the prv and refitted it.
The strange thing is the pressure gauge seems to stay just under the 1 bar level no matter what the pressure is,idle/running
The boiler now seems to run o/k although a little noisy since I lost some water removing the prv,I dont know how to refil to the correct pressure as the gauge don't do anything.
I have visualy examined the gauge capillary and it seems o/k.
the radiators don't get hot when running the hot water
Any thoughts?

Thanks again.
Rob.

Fit a new gauge. A visual inspection won't really tell you anything.

I have decided to take daves advice (gas4u) and fit a new pressure gauge.
I would like to ask how easy is it to replace? do I have to drain the boiler down.I have not done this before, any help appreciated.
Thanks again
Rob.
P.S. can you recommend an online company for spares please.
