Fence shrinkage

I have just put up a 70ft featheredge fence and noticed over the last couple of weeks that the boards have shrunk and some have warped quite considerably and now there are gaps, i overlappd them the required 1/2 inch, i have tried replacing a few but have damaged more in trying to take them off.

I am about to do the other side of the garden and wondered whether there is something i'm doing wrong

Any suggestions gratefully received....

When you buy them they are often wet with the pressure treating and they shrink enormously (as you know). Simply overlap a greater amount.

Never overlap less than an inch.

I'm starting tomorrow, although not looking forward to digging my holes for the posts!!!

But i will try overlapping more.
Is it a common problem or am i just un lucky?

Very common, it's the nature of the material. It's why you should only use 1 nail per board

I have used only 1 per board, top and bottom..

I have only used 2 arris rails, the timber yard where i got all my fencing from only suggested 2..
