Stair carpet cleaners

We only have one carpet -but it's desperate for a good clean.

Should I hire one from Homebase or are the specialists likely to get a better job done?

The hired ones do a fantastic job and are considerable less than a professional. I was quoted £250 for my living room, instead I hired one from Timpson who were in my local sainsburys for £20 for 24 hours and cleaned 4 rooms. I was well impressed, so much so Ive recommended it to friends.
Make sure you advise them if you want to do your stairs though as they normally have two or three different styles.
Its hard going but well worth it.
