what is the best way to deal with the above problem - we have new lime-based pointing in good nick with an overlying lime plaster and lime based paint. Due to high rainfall we have constant damp stains on the internal walls - gutters, windows etc are all fine. Any ideas for preventing these stains - can you use silicon based exteral coats on lime pointing - will the wall still breathe? All help greatly received!
