I would like to know where I can buy the external "stick on the outside" type.

Any suggestions and any idea of target price?

No, its not lead strips which are required its the white plastic strips to go on the outside to look like glazing bars!

Oh, fair enough, other than trying local supplier/manufacturers you could google upvc extrusions I suppose.

quite easy to get hold off, but where the end of the bar meets the frame it would probaly have to milled to follow the profile otherwise it will look pants
 
Thermoseal have a minimum order and i do not think they will sell to the public
 
Its a start he could ring and ask for a local stockist who carries stock I am sure they would sell him some . every things for sale its just finding the stuff.
