Can anyone tell me if the local councils building control department must ensure that work is carried out to approved drawings and if the work deviates approval must be given by the council and amended drawings submitted. On our development separate foul and surface water systems were to have been installed but they are combined. The builder should have connected into the water authorities sewer but broke into an existing sewer from a nearby farm. The council says this is OK but no drawings or written consent can be produced.

Thoughts please.

Regards,

Bill

If BC are happy then it's OK, they should make anote of every deviation from the approved plans but don't always, there is no need for you to submit ammended plans.
The one thing to possibly worry about is that quite a few farms are not on mains sewerage and use septic tanks. the farmer isn't going to be very happy if you are filling his septic tank.
