What are the regulations governing ventilation in an internal kitchen, the kitchen has no external walls. I have found differing reports about manual and automatic ventilation. Currently I have a chimney style cooker hood which vents to the outside, if I was to put in a gas hob would this be sufficient or would I require one that worked automatically when the light is turned on.

an externally venting cooker extractor will satisfy building reg's.
As long as the door is undercut 10mm
