Hi, can anyone tell me if a window frame can be load bearing, i have removed a stud wall in between room & kitchen extension only to find original window frame has been left in, it is a large window which made up half of the original outside wall, i am wondering why it would be left in. :?:

You may find that the wall you removed was load bearing, and was built in under the old window frame to take it's load

But before any more assumptions can be made, you need to let us know what the window frame is made of, it's dimensions and total span. Also is it supported at either end on the existing walls?

Are you sure it's not the original lintel that was supporting the load above the removed window?
