the correct method is to contact the DNO and ask them to connect it.

It is their equipment, and no one else should be touching it.

thanks RF, I contacted DNO who said i should get on with it, so is there an approved method as the existing 6mm is affixed using a 951 clamp

Coil springs and braided earth wire onto the sheath to the MET, and then connect your 16.0mm² to there.

Ring the DNO back, and tell them that it is their responsibility, not yours, and ask them if they are really asking you to commit a criminal act?

They are responsible for the supply and maintenance of their earth.

THEY should be doing it, simple as, the next thing is we will be changing our own service heads a meters!!!!!!

I take it you haven't had the letter from YEDL yet then?

I might have some bad news for you.....

Oh, you heard?

I mean, how hard can it be to joint a live 3 phase PILC in a hole in the ground?
