I am re-finishing an old (1913) house. The stairs are covered in carpeting which I am removing. Then, I am going to sand all floors and seal with polyurethane. Many people are telling me to only finish the treads of the stairs and to paint the risers. I want to sand all of the stairs. who is right? icon_sad.gif

No one is right or wrong. There are no hard rules to this, if its what you want then go for it, it's all down to personal taste. (and would look better your way, in my opinion)
